Roy maintains there were then more people onstage than in the audience.Sheila Corneliushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10733012820447377725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22076194.post-44584339596608609092010-04-24T13:59:03.840+01:002010-04-24T13:59:03.840+01:00I am never sure about the mix of theatre and circu...I am never sure about the mix of theatre and circus. It works well when done by companies like Kneehigh who stay true to the drama but it is sometimes a close call. Did you see Brief Encounter? And the sadness of small audiences! I had an interesting experience in Belgium many years ago with my ex partner. He was playing piano to a silent film and we showed up to find there was just me and one other person in the audience! I forget the film now but it was a memorable music performance as he improvised themes from Elgar, Rachmaninov and Bruckner just for me! She would never have known. The film may have been some Russian classic like The Overcoat. The reason for the lack of audience was that the venue was being rebuilt and noone knew if it was open or not! He did an evening show that was much better supported and earnt his fee!Debralondonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17853026685333087807noreply@blogger.com
